Melissa’s Bio
I'm Melissa Seitz, a Licensed Professional Counselor based in New Orleans, Louisiana. I specialize in trauma, PTSD, and EMDR — continually working with individuals navigating trauma healing, anxiety, relationship challenges, life transitions, and stress. My work is rooted in the belief that the struggles showing up in your life today are often connected to something deeper — painful past experiences, strong emotions, or deeply held beliefs that have quietly been running the show.
My role is to help you get to the root of the problem, not just manage the symptoms. To uncover what's beneath the surface and gently begin to change it. I integrate the proven techniques of EMDR with principles from attachment theory, polyvagal theory, ego state and parts work, and mind-body practices — weaving these approaches together so that your therapy is tailored specifically to you, your needs, and your goals.
I am independently licensed in Louisiana and Arizona, hold a telehealth license in Florida, and a compact license in Georgia, so wherever life takes you, consistent care is possible. I seek to create a space of deep care, authenticity, and, when the moment calls for it, a touch of humor.
